Designed for beginners or those returning to sewing, this level focuses on mastering essential stitches, machine operation, and professional studio habits. Students gain confidence through beautifully simple projects that prioritize precision, consistency, and clean finishes. Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, students will: -Confidently operate and maintain a sewing machine -Sew straight and zigzag stitches with accuracy -Understand seam allowances, pressing, and fabric handling -Cut fabric with intention and precision 4-Week Project Alignment Week 1: Studio orientation, machine basics, stitch practice Material needed: -.5 metre of medium to heavy-weight woven fabric (cotton) Week 2: Atelier Tote Bag Material needed: -1– 1.5 metres (medium to heavy-weight woven fabric (Canvas, denim, cotton) -1 metre lining fabric (quilting cotton or lightweight canvas) -1 metre medium-weight fusible interfacing -Coordinating thread to match Week 3: Envelope Cushion Cover Material needed: -16” pillow form and 1 meter of cotton fabric -Coordinating polyester thread Week 4: Fabric Tool Roll or Drawstring Pouch Material needed: -main fabric:.5 meter (cotton or twill, denim) -lining fabric: .5 meter (broad cloth or lightweight cotton)
